Before social media arrived on the scene, Breaking News
really was Breaking News.
These days, Breaking News is a misused, overused, and tired cliché.
Local television news, across the country, is broken. It’s a monopoly run by a handful of corporations that place bottom lines and politics
above reporting and content.
Local newscasts, as a result, are hollow, scripted, and spineless tapestries of the day’s events tailored around giddy anchor chitchat, loud car dealer commercials and long-winded weather forecasts.
Busted News is here to highlight some of those lowlights.
