Columbus Division of Police Deputy Chief Relieved of Duty for Missing Drug Test

The Columbus Division of Police relieved Deputy Chief Jennifer Knight of duty Thursday for missing a scheduled drug test.

Cincinnati lawyer Zach Gottesman says his client has never had a substance abuse problem and says it's nothing more than retaliation for Deputy Chief Knight standing up to Lt. Melissa McFadden and her claims that systemic racism is rampant throughout CPD.

Lt. McFadden's allegations are the basis of a controversial book she wrote last year, "Walking The Thin Black Line: Confronting Racism In The Columbus Division of Police" in which the moonlighting author flatout called some of her colleagues racists.

This is merely one chapter of an on-going saga which includes a federal lawsuit filed by Lt. McFadden and pending lawsuits on the horizon.

Gottesman says CPD is trying force Deputy Chief Knight to retire but tells The Sussi Report that his client is not cowering. Gottesman says his first order of business is to get Deputy Chief Knight reinstated.

Here is my interview with Attorney Zach Gottesman.
