A Columbus Division of Police officer is on paid administrative duty pending the outcome of criminal charges he faces in Illinois.
According to the Circuit Court of Cook County records, 26-year-old Adam Nguyen was arrested and charged with unauthorized video recording and live video transmission, a Class 4 felony.

The complaint states that on May 21 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Officer Nguyen pointed a camera under a young woman's skirt and recorded her underwear and buttocks without the victim’s consent.
According to court records, the 23-year-old woman lives in Palatine, about 12 miles from the alleged incident. When contacted the woman said, she is "angry" and did not want to discuss the details.
Officer Nguyen was released on a recognizance bond and will return to the Circuit Court of Cook County in June for a hearing.
In May of 2022, Officer Nguyen was featured in a Division promotional video as an Asian-American police officer. He joined the Division two years ago.
