CPD Narc Facing Federal Drug Charges Had August Run-In With The Law

On August 7, while federal agents were piecing together its investigation into Columbus Division of Police narcotics agents Marco Merino and John Kotchkoski, an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper pulled over Kotchkoski.
The trooper, according to this citation, clocked Kotchkoski driving 120 mph behind the wheel of his 2019 red Corvette on I-270 westbound near US-23. The posted speed is 65.
On September 27, the feds charged both Merino and Kotchkoski with the sale and distribution of 7.5 kilos of fentanyl. Merino is also charged with taking bribes to protect transportations of cocaine.
Both are currently behind bars without bond. Their preliminary hearing is set for October 13.
