A mother and her two children are the latest victims of juvenile car thieves running rampant through the streets of Columbus.
The terrifying incident unfolded Wednesday around 4:13 p.m. The 29-year-old woman, who The Sussi Report is not identifying, pulled up to a house on Edgevale Road to deliver food. Her one and three-year-old daughters were strapped in child car seats in the back of her 2022 Kia Telluride.
According to the report filed with the Columbus Division of Police, the woman said she stepped out of the running SUV to deliver the food and, in the blink of an eye, watched in horror as a car pulled up behind her vehicle, a male exit and climbed behind the wheel of her SUV and drive off.
Officers located the stolen SUV around 4:32 p.m., abandoned in an alley on North Cassidy Ave. Both children were safe and reunited with their mother.
The girls’ mother posted this message Wednesday night on her Facebook page. “What a TRAGIC day. It could have been another way, so I PRAISE and THANK GOD for just getting my kids back to us safely. You messed with GOD’s children. You will never with that battle. I pray you find Jesus soon.”
Police hope they find the two suspects, both juveniles, before God finds them.
