Man Pulls Gun On First Responders Answering An Emergency Call

MAN PULLS GUN ON FIRST RESPONDERS Columbus Division of Fire medics and firefighters with Engine 21 found themselves in a tense situation Saturday night.

Responding to a medical emergency call late Saturday night, firefighters and medics with Columbus Division of Fire Station 21 found themselves in serious quandary that could have resulted in them requiring emergency care.


It happened around 10:05 p.m. near the intersection of East Livingston Avenue and Zettler Road. According to this report filed with the Columbus Division of Police, Engine 21 pulled up along a light blue Mercedes, and when the driver failed to pull over, sounded its horn.


The driver, according to witnesses, pointed a “small handgun” at the driver of Engine 21 and drove sped off. Police later determined that the Mercedes was stolen and connected to “at least one shoplifting” incident at Walmart on East Main Street in Whitehall.


The gunman is described as a black male, in his 30’s with a beard and skull cap. Another armed and dangerous thug on the loose in a city overrun with criminals.
