Unwanted Guests Continue To Give Restaurant Heartburn

Roaches and rodents.

Twice this month, Columbus Public Health inspectors have spotted the pesky pests at the Spicy Cup & Bakery, 1977 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Consequently, the restaurant has the infamous yellow sticker plastered on its front door and continues to be under the watchful eye of the health department.

On November 16, the inspector observed: "excessive amounts of rodents' feces around the facility," including the dry storage area and on top of food containers. You can see the mouse turds in the attached pictures.

The inspector observed "live cockroaches in several parts of the facility," especially in the dish tank area in their report.

The inspector returned to the restaurant three days later for a follow-up inspection. Their report noted "a live baby cockroach on the cups above the reach-in cooler" across from the hand sink. The inspector also observed a "live mouse trapped in the bait box" in the kitchen area.

In their report, the inspector noted that Spicy Cup Cafe & Bakery would continue to have its facility professionally treated for roaches.
